Meta search site GoBear has expanded its reach to Thailand, just five months after its inaugural launch in Singapore.
GoBear Thailand will introduce the comprehensive insurance meta search engine for the country, offering comparison of hundreds of insurance plans in seconds. The site, currently live in beta phase, will see its commercial launch at the end of September, said Mr Marnix Zwart, Senior VP for Business Development at GoBear.
GoBear CEO Andre Hesselink shared that he sees insurance search as a space that is both evolving and in flux. Insurance companies, agents and brokers are working with an ever-intensifying ecosystem of consumers’ wants and needs, coupled with industry-wide changes in technology. “Today’s insurance buyers are mobile-first, multi-screen and social media savvy. To reach them, insurers will need to employ an increasing emphasis on simplicity in search.”
Seamless user experience
He added that the traffic observed on GoBear Singapore is testament to the confidence users have in its comparison data. “Our key priority now is to broaden the products on our platform as we continuously look to enhance the seamless user experience with search, filter and quotes, direct from the insurers.”
Mr Zwart said its Thai platform has already tied up with a few global insurers locally, as well as a number of major local brokers – which provide access to 26 insurers’ products. And they are looking to add to the growing list in the months running up to its commercial launch.
For GoBear Thailand, the site will start with offering comparison for travel insurance products, similar to Singapore, whilst comparison for motor policies will be “more of basic covers”, he added.
Health insurance comparison now available
Last week, the company also announced the expansion of its site to include health insurance, making it the first meta search site in Singapore to offer free comparison of over 130 health insurance products to consumers. With an absence of complicated jargon, GoBear said users can easily find and compare, “in just four clicks”, a broad range of health insurance plans in seconds which match their profiles.
