Three of these credit cards are co-branded with oil companies in the Philippines, so getting these cards would mean availing the rebates only on specified gas brands. Meanwhile, two of these cards are co-branded with carmakers, so it would make sense to get these cards if your car’s brand matches the card. Also, there are other credit cards that tack on additional rewards points or offer freebies for gas purchases instead of gas rebates. Test drive these credit cards for gas savings
The MetroBank Toyota MasterCard tacks on a 3% fuel rebate for users who gas up at more than 500 participating Petron stations nationwide. This gas card also provides two Metrobank reward points for every ₱20 spent at a Toyota dealer, as well as a 10% discount on genuine accessories, parts, and labor at all Toyota dealers.
The UnionBank Phoenix Petroleum Visa Card gives out a 3% rebate on gas purchases at Phoenix Stations, as well as a fuel voucher worth ₱500. This gas card also comes with a free 24-hour towing and roadside assistance privilege, as well as a 10% discount on Phoenix lubricants and services at Phoenix stations.
The Shell Citi Card grants a 5% rebate on Shell fuel purchases, toll load on South Luzon Expressway and North Luzon Expressway, and auto repairs, accessories, and services from Shell nationwide. EastWest Bank issues the Hyundai MasterCard, which gives users a 5% rebate on fuel purchases at any gasoline station nationwide, as well as a 10% discount at all authorized Hyundai dealerships and a free Hyundai gift voucher worth ₱1,000.
The Petron-BPI MasterCard delivers a 3% fuel rebate at BPI-accredited Petron gas stations. The gas card also offers 10% discounts on Petron lubricants and oils. Newly approved principal cardholders also get a free ₱200 fuel voucher.
The Security Bank Complete Cashback card grants a 4% rebate on gas purchases, regardless of the gas station of choice.
All of HSBC’s credit cards in the Philippines (Red MasterCard, Gold Visa, Platinum Visa, Advance Visa, Premier MasterCard) grants a 3% rebate when cardholders fuel up at participating Caltex stations, as well as special 10% rebate on a new cardholder’s first transaction at Caltex. Fuel spend on these credit cards also earns bonus points, which can be used to redeem rewards items or miles.
