Best Long Weekends in Malaysia in 2019
Who doesn’t love a good holiday? Especially when it falls on a Friday or Monday and turns it into an extended long weekend?
Did you know that Malaysians are some of the most vacation-starved people in the world? :)
With major celebrations such as Chinese New Year and Hari Raya each offering two full days of public holiday, there are many other dates throughout the calendar that can be “stretched” to enable us to enjoy an extended break.
Expedia 2017’s Vacation Deprivation report which observed the vacation habits of more than 15,000 working adults spread across 30 nations revealed several interesting findings.
Firstly, millennials are fighting a losing battle trying to achieve a solid work-life balance as they recorded the highest percentage of vacation-deprived respondents at 62%.
Secondly, those in the marketing and media field were also ranked as the most deprived globally at 66%.
And thirdly, out of 18 vacation days available to Malaysians, on average four are left unused – and wasted – each year.
